The Observatory has published a book on the taxation faced by wind farm owners signing a contract with developers: “Fiscal considerations between wind farm land owners and Developers“ (Consideracións fiscais nos contractos entre propietarios e empresas promotoras de parques eólicos). The authors are all professors of the Department of Applied Economics of the University of Vigo and members of Rede Research Group: José Carlos Álvarez Villamarín, Alberto Gago Rodríguez and Xosé Manuel González Martínez.
The book aims to address the tax treatment of the income derived from rustic land property contracts (whether it be leasing or the transfer of surface rights) and the firms interested in wind exploitation.
The scope of the book covers the study of Direct Taxation (Personal Income Tax for Individuals and Corporation Tax for communal property entities) and Indirect Taxation (common for all types of owners). It provides a simplified, accurate and understandable set of information to make farm owners aware of the fiscal duties associated with the contracts they sign for the installation of wind farms.
The book is free of charge and may be fully accessed at the followinglink.
